The nuclear family is a major contributor to what made America the greatest nation in history.
Looking at the state of our country now, it is clear to see that it is in a state of struggle. By demeaning and undermining the importance of the nuclear family, we have successfully removed the very thing that made our country so strong. For generations, the nuclear family maintained it's strength and value. Phyllis Schlafly, a long time national leader in the pro-family movement explains, "Parents taught their children right and wrong, how to treat others, how to be good citizens. Virtues were handed down from one generation to the next. Children learned to make their way in life. When they became independent, they would start a family of their own, and the cycle would continue.
Families set the stage for how we interact in other relationships, while also providing encouragement and a sense of belonging. Studies have shown that close families create better mental health and academic performance. Healthy families teach values, important life lessons, and how to deal with emotions. However these benefits don't often happen when the majority of our days are spent apart. If we want to see our country move back to a place of strength, revolution begins with us.
